Announcement Submissions

If you’re a RAMCOA survivor, or part of an organization that supports RAMCOA survivors in some way, and you have an event coming up, we are happy to support you in sharing about your event. We can publish it in our emailed newsletter that we send out every second month, on our website Events page, or both. Let our readership know what you have going on!

Please read through our Publication Criteria below before submitting your announcement.

Your event must be:

  • Free or low cost.
  • Created for, or supportive of, RA/MC and/or child sex trafficking survivors. It can be any kind of event, on any theme.

We are committed to supporting the wider survivor community. So, for example, if you’re a survivor and are having a launch party for your next children’s book, we would love to help spread the word!

The announcement for your event must be:

  • No more than 250 words in order for us to consider it for publication.
  • Sent to us by the 5th of the month in order for it to be considered for that month’s emailed newsletter (sent out near the end of the month).

    Please note that our newsletter is sent out every second month:
    February, April, June, August, October, and December.

There is no cost for putting an announcement in our newsletter or on our website’s Events page.

Once we receive your announcement, we’ll review it and let you know if it meets our criteria for publication. In addition to the criteria above, we look at each submission individually to make sure it reflects GrassRoots’ purpose and values.

We recommend writing your announcement in a word processing program so that you can easily check the word count. Then copying and paste the text into the form.

In your 250 word announcement, be sure to include:

  • Who is putting on the event.
  • Who the event is for.
  • A brief description of what the event is about.
  • Where it is being held, virtual or otherwise.
  • The date(s) and time(s).
  • If it’s free or how much it costs.
  • Contact information for the event (e.g. a website or email address).
